Created by the CNRS on the occasion of its 80th anniversary, the foundation's mission is to contribute to the development and promotion of the CNRS, and more generally of scientific and technological research in France and around the world.
It focuses on funding exploratory, risky or high-stakes fundamental research requiring rapid assistance, attracting new talent and helping it to flourish. It funds scientific prizes.
